In May 2014, Anita Wyatt ran a series of paper collage workshops with local people. They illustrated either a story of their own or one or more of the stories that had been collected over the course of the project.

These had emerged as a result of people getting in touch after the Walking Past project was featured in newspaper articles or if they had picked up one of the project’s postcard style leaflets that were available in local shops, pubs and businesses.

Other sources included recorded interviews, a 1940s tea dance, visitors to the Flaxmill or participants in guided walks.
